Welcome to MSA’s Spring 2015 baseball and girls softball season. I hope you and your family are as excited as the board and coaches are because it’s going to be a great spring season. Our goals are to promote the development of athletic skills through the teaching of fundamentals, while emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship in all activities. While we actively support the development of individual skills and goals, we stress the overarching importance of teamwork during play. Evaluations consist of each kid going through a few basic drills while coaches observe. The goal of the evaluations is to familiarize families with the park and promote competitive balance. Please have your child bring their glove and bat ready to play. If your child does not have a glove or bat, they may borrow one. Teams will be set as soon as possible after makeup evaluations on February 9th. Once this is done, you will receive a welcome call from the coach with dates and times for practices. They will also ask for you to confirm your child’s uniform size and jersey number request. The game schedule will be completed and distributed by the end of February.

Note: If you have a teammate or coach request, please inform your league director. Please note that all requests may not be met to preserve competitive balance.

Advanced Baseball – Beginning this Spring 2015 season, MSA has moved to Advanced Baseball (“AB”) to a ‘Closed’ structure. For those unfamiliar, AB is a program that offers players that have a higher skill level the opportunity to play more competitive ball during the regular season. The AB program exists as an extension to our recreational teams and schedules activities to co-exist with the recreational teams schedule. Participation in the AB program is a tryout process held at the beginning of each season. Any registered player is welcome to attend the AB tryouts. There is an additional charge of $40 per player to cover the cost of the uniform (fitted hat and shirt). Please contact your League Director or Director of Advanced Baseball for additional information.

Please keep in mind that MSA is an all-volunteer park. All activities take place, first and foremost, for the benefit of children. We anticipate the active involvement of parents in MSA activities through assistance in our concession stand, field maintenance, carnival and fund raising. We also trust that all adults involved with MSA will conduct themselves in accordance with principles that benefit the children.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your League Director or other Board Member. All contact information is on the website. Now let’s play ball!

Our Mission

MSA is an organization composed of children, parents, coaches, sponsors and spectators. Our goals are to promote the development of athletic skills through the teaching of fundamentals, while emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship in all activities. While we actively support the development of individual skills and goals, we stress the overarching importance of teamwork during play.

All MSA activities take place, first and foremost, for the benefit of children. Our programs and policies are geared toward developing athletic skills and sportsmanship in children. Our coaches are selected based on their ability to impart these skills and attitudes to the children, and are expected to lead by example. Finally, we anticipate the active involvement of parents in MSA activities on behalf of their children. Parental attitudes and behaviors greatly influence those of their children, and their involvement can provide the ultimate positive example.

MSA hopes that this serves as a clear statement of the principles we feel are embodied in MSA activities. We also trust that all adults involved with MSA will conduct themselves in accordance with these principles, for the benefit of our children.

Sponsorship InformationMSA is actively seeking corporate donations/sponsors to fund various projects around the complex. These projects include field renovation and maintenance, major equipment purchases, batting cage maintenance and repair, just to name a few.  Please share this information with your parents as they may own a business or work for someone who would be interested.
